We've gotten a lot of messages on how to disinfect our shields and visors so we thought we'd share a video on how to properly clean your Island Girl visors with detachable face shields.
The best way to clean your shields would be to WASH THEM WITH SOAP AND WATER. We like to wash our shields the same way we do our dishes.
Here's what you will need:
- a small soft sponge
- some dishwashing liquid
- a clean, small towel or piece of fabric (you can even cut up an old cotton t-shirt).
Here's how to clean your face shields:
What's important is that you have a separate sponge and cleaning fabric just for your face shields and have a separate container for them so that it is not mixed with other cleaning materials.
Soap up the shield FROM THE INSIDE OUT, lather, and then dry with your towel and leave out in the open until next use.
We highly recommend that you wash your shields after every use.
DO NOT USE ALCOHOL OR DISINFECTANT SPRAY TO CLEAN YOUR SHIELDS. While this might be super convenient and easy, the build-up of chemicals on your shields will cause them to get "cloudy" or "foggy" over time.
To clean your visors, just wipe them down FROM THE INSIDE OUT with Alcohol Wipes/ Cleaning Wipes.
